John Merlo

John Merlo is an experienced construction law specialist with a unique background that combines hands-on industry experience and legal expertise. He began his career in the construction industry, working in the civil sector and eventually becoming a major subcontractor in South East Queensland. His projects spanned across South East Queensland and Victoria.

In 1998, Merlo transitioned into law, later obtaining a Master of Laws with a specialisation in construction law in 2010. Since then, he has provided assistance to clients across Australia on various construction matters, including both drafting and dispute resolution.

Merlo's professional expertise has gained international recognition. He offers advice on a wide range of areas, including:

Outside of his professional life, Merlo is a father of four and a dog owner. He maintains an active lifestyle, preferring to work mobile due to his background in outdoor construction work. His personal experience in the construction industry allows him to deeply understand and empathise with his clients' challenges, driving his passion for providing effective legal assistance.
